The first season of Fanboy and Chum Chum consisted of 26 episodes, 52 individual segments. It shows the beginning of the many adventures of Fanboy and Chum Chum, two best friends who wear superhero costumes with underwear outside the costumes and have amazing imaginations.
The first episode aired, "Wizboy", drew 5.8 million viewers. "Trading Day", the episode that it aired with, drew 5.4 million viewers. One of the episodes, "Dollar Day", was shown as a sneak peek to the show on October 12, 2009.
From March 29 - April 2, 2010, Nickelodeon aired the episodes "Chicken Pox", "The Frosty Bus", "Cold War", "Pick a Nose" and "Fanboy in the Plastic Bubble" as part of the weeklong "Spring it On!" marathon. Each episode aired a new episode of Nickelodeon's Brainsurge after it.
From June 7-11, 2010, Nickelodeon aired "The Incredible Shrinking Fanboy", "Strings Attached", "The Tell-Tale Toy", "Fan-bidextrous" and "Brain Drain" as a weeklong marathon for Nickelodeon's Summer of 2010. A scene from "Man-Arctica the Ride" was also featured in the promo.
On June 19, 2010, "The Great Bicycle Mystery" and "A Bopwork Orange" were aired as part of Nickelodeon's Addicting Games Showdown.
On September 11, 2010, "Sigmund the Sorcerer" and "Fanboy A'Hoy!" were aired. "Freeze Tag" and "Jingle Fever" aired one week later, on September 18, 2010.
From November 1-4, 2010, the last four episodes, "Separation Anxiety", "Fan vs. Wild", "Man-Arctica the Ride" and "Stan Arctica" were aired in a weeklong marathon to promote the show's first anniversary.
This season was directed by Brian Sheesley, Jim Schumann, and Russell Calabrese.
The DVD box set for this season was released on August 7, 2012.
